Thank you for taking the time to browse my website. I have several goals in providing this site, the number one being to expose this deadly illness called Wernicke's Encephalopathy. From what I have read, it's an illness that strikes between 1.7 and 2.3 percent of the US population, that is nearly 37,000 people per year (running conservative numbers). Over 3,000 people per month, more than 100 per day, most of which never know that they are even sick, most of which will never make it to the hospital. To me, that is simply to many people being effected by this illness without the knowledge that this illness even exist.

Another goal I have is to provide information about the illness to help others get a "quick - down to earth" look at the illness. When it hit our home I found very little information and no information as to the care that should be provided to my wife, the patient.

Last but not least, to let people know that all is not lost. Encourage them to get help and support to survive the after effects of the illness.
